Baltic Hub neighbourhood meetings in Stogi and Przeróbka
On 18 August, Baltic Hub organised two neighbourhood events aimed primarily at children and young people, as well as their parents and guardians. The events took place at the playground on Szpaki Street in Stogi and at the skatepark on Lenartowicza Street in Przeróbka – two recreational spaces whose development was supported by Baltic Hub. They provided an opportunity to have fun together, spend time actively and bring local families together.
Baltic Hub operates on a global scale, but maintaining strong relationships with the communities closest to the terminal is equally important to us. For many years, we have been involved in initiatives addressing the needs of residents of Stogi, Przeróbka and Krakowiec-Górki Zachodnie. One aspect of this commitment is supporting places where children and families can spend their free time safely and actively.
Baltic Hub fully funded the playground on Szpaki Street in Stogi and co-funded the skatepark on Lenartowicza Street in Przeróbka, which was developed as part of Gdańsk’s Participatory Budget. On 18 August, both locations became venues for neighbourhood gatherings.
Two events for our neighbours
The first event began at 10:00 a.m. at the playground on Szpaki Street in Gdańsk Stogi. Two hours later, at 12:00 noon, the fun continued at the skatepark on Lenartowicza Street in Przeróbka.
Participants enjoyed ice cream, games and competitions, accompanied by Baltic Hub’s mascot – Baltuś the giraffe, who joined the children in the activities.
The events were also attended by the Chairs of the Stogi and Przeróbka District Councils.
The gatherings had a friendly, family-oriented and neighbourhood character. Our aim was to spend time together with the youngest residents and their families in places created with the local community in mind, while also highlighting the importance of spaces that encourage play, physical activity and community integration.
Close to local families and residents
Funding the playground in Stogi and supporting the skatepark in Przeróbka form part of Baltic Hub’s broader commitment to the districts neighbouring the terminal. The company implements and supports social, educational, environmental and safety-related projects, develops employee volunteering initiatives and invests in spaces that are important to local communities.
In Stogi, Baltic Hub has for many years been involved in initiatives focused on the local beach, including its cleanliness, safety and accessibility. The company also supports sports and recreational infrastructure, funds lifesaving equipment and organises free summer cinema screenings. Through its “Busole” grant programme, Baltic Hub also supports initiatives undertaken by local schools, kindergartens, institutions and organisations that address the specific needs of residents.
The neighbourhood gatherings organised on 18 August were another element of these activities – this time focused primarily on the youngest residents of Stogi and Przeróbka and their families.
