On 28 April 2026, MSC and MEDLOG received renewed certification for their FSM and GDP protocols from RINA, a leading certification body. MEDLOG Italy also achieved certification for the first time.

Both certifications are designed to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of sensitive goods throughout the supply chain. ISO 22000 or FSM (Food Safety Management System) applies to food and beverages, while GDP (Good Distribution Practice) is based on the EU directives 2001/83/EC and 2011/62/EC for pharmaceutical products.

MSC and MEDLOG first received GDP and FSM certification in 2023 following a thorough audit. Robust temperature control management during transportation is a key factor to achieve compliance.

Successfully renewing these certifications reflects MSC’s commitment to the highest standards of cargo safety and customer care.

By opting for a GDP- or FSM-certified protocol for an additional fee, customers benefit from additional services such as:

For even more control, customers can combine FSM or GDP with MSC iReefer, the most advanced container monitoring system for reefer cargo.

” We are proud to have these certifications renewed and to bring MEDLOG Italy onboard for the first time. We can now offer FSM and GDP protocols not only at sea, but also during inland moves across Italy – marking an exciting new chapter for us and our customers. “
