Tender for laboratory testing for the construction of the High-Speed Rail tunnel in Łodź

The company Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, as part of the railway component of the Port Polska investment programme, has announced a tender for laboratory testing services. The tests will enable ongoing quality control of construction works and building materials used during the construction of section of railway line no. 85 between Warsaw and Łódź, as well as components of the High-Speed Rail tunnel in Łódź. Tenders may be submitted until 9 April.

The open tender concerns laboratory and field testing for construction works related to the long-distance railway tunnel in Łódź along railway line no. 85. The contract has been divided into two packages, allowing potential contractors to provide services for either one or both.

The first package will include, among other things, testing of construction materials and adopted construction solutions for the Warsaw–Łódź railway line, including:

The second package concerns testing of elements of the long-distance railway tunnel in Łódź, including, among others, the structure of the tunnel excavated using a TBM (tunnel boring machine) and the segmental tunnel linings that will be produced in Łódź.

The primary criterion for selecting the winning bidder in both packages will be price, and the contract will remain in force for four years from the date of signing. Participation requirements and detailed information about the procedure are available on the e-zamawiajacy.pl procurement platform.

According to the current schedules, excavation of the high-speed rail tunnel in Łódź is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year and be completed in 2029, while the first section of the HSR “Y” line between Warsaw and Łódź is scheduled to be launched before the end of 2032, together with the opening of the new airport.
