Centralny Port Komunikacyjny invites interested companies to take part in open market consultations concerning the planned hydrogen fuel infrastructure. These activities form part of the Company’s long-term approach to the development of modern airport infrastructure and the reduction of emissions associated with its operation.

The implementation of a hydrogen fuel system at the new national airport will enable a reduction in emissions and the diversification of energy sources used by airport infrastructure vehicles. Planned investments in low-emission technologies may contribute to strengthening the airport’s competitiveness and are aligned with actions being undertaken across the airport sector as part of the energy transition.

The discussions will focus on the planning and construction of infrastructure, in particular hydrogen refuelling stations for airport vehicles. Their purpose is to obtain general information and recommendations, to analyse the hydrogen energy market, and to compile a catalogue of good practices relating to existing infrastructure of this type worldwide, with particular emphasis on airports. Representatives of Port Polska intend to draw on market and expert knowledge at the planning and design stage of hydrogen distribution installations for airport vehicles.

The consultations are purely informational and analytical in nature and do not constitute part of any procurement procedure, competition, or process for selecting an operator or contractor

Entities interested in participating in the consultations may submit questions regarding their course and send declarations of interest by 20 February 2026 to the following addresses: grzegorz.zwolinski@cpk.pl and artur.socinski@ckp.pl.

The consultations will be conducted in the form of in-person meetings with representatives of the Company, online meetings, and questionnaires, and will cover, among other things, operational, technical and environmental issues.

At present, hydrogen as a fuel is finding increasingly widespread use in heavy goods transport and public bus transport. Examples include pilot projects implemented at Seoul Incheon Airport in South Korea, where a fleet of hydrogen fuel cell buses is in operation alongside hydrogen refuelling infrastructure. Ground handling vehicles are also increasingly being identified as a potential area for the application of hydrogen technologies.

The consultations are scheduled to commence on 25 February 2026.

Port Polska is a strategic investment programme, delivered by the state-owned company Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, focused on building the transport, logistics, and mobility backbone of Central Europe. By efficiently integrating air, rail, and road networks, it will radically transform the region’s infrastructure – removing barriers, supporting development, and better serving society. The project is not only vital for Poland’s connectivity and economic growth but will also act as a key driver of integration across Central and Eastern Europe.

Construction of the passenger terminal is scheduled to begin in 2026 with deep foundation piling. The underground railway station and tunnel are expected to be completed by 2029. The airport is set to become operational by the end of 2032, together with the first section of the high-speed rail line connecting Warsaw and Łódź.
