Port of Antwerp-Bruges offers new opportunities through shortsea connections
At Port of Antwerp-Bruges, several shipping companies have launched new connections within the shortsea network. In doing so, the port strengthens its position as a hub for shortsea shipping in Europe. This offers additional capacity and new destinations.
Since 10 May 2025, CLdN has been operating a weekly LOLO service to Cork and Dublin for the first time, using the MS JSP Rover. The vessel has a capacity of 804 TEU and can carry 45-foot containers. The service compensates for the loss of capacity following the failure of the MS Delphine and ensures more efficient use of CLdN’s RORO fleet.
In addition, WEC Lines has been sailing weekly to Dublin since 29 July. This service departs from the CSP Terminal in Zeebrugge with the LOLO vessel MS Trouper, which has a capacity of 862 TEU. Le Havre is included as a stop on the new service to optimise the route.
Zeebrugge – Baltic States
In June 2025, CMA CGM Shortsea Line launched a second weekly feeder service from the CSP Terminal in Zeebrugge to the Baltic States, including Riga, Klaipeda, and Gdansk. This new LOLO service, BALT2, complements the existing BALT1 service and further strengthens connections with the Baltic region.
Zeebrugge – Gdynia, Poland
From 23 June 2025, Finnlines will include the Polish port of Gdynia in its existing RORO service from Antwerp/Zeebrugge to the United Kingdom and the Baltic States. This weekly service from PSA Zeebrugge carries trailers, trucks, breakbulk, automotive cargo, containers, and project cargo.
