The Supervisory Board of Port of Gdańsk Eksploatacja has appointed a vice-president for commercial affairs following a selection process

Jacek Dubicki has become a member of the Management Board of Port of Gdańsk Eksploatacja S.A. He is scheduled to take up his position on 2 September. He is an experienced manager who has worked in the maritime industry for more than 35 years, mainly in the seaports of the Gulf of Gdańsk. He knows PGE inside out – he served as the company’s director of trade and development from 2017 to 2018.

Port of Gdańsk Eksploatacja is a part of the group of companies belonging to the Port of Gdańsk Authority SA. The largest and most versatile cargo handling operator in the Port of Gdańsk. It has 8 quays in the inner port with a total operational length of 5 km. PGE handled over 6 million tonnes of goods in 2023, including coal and coke, steel and steel products, scrap metal, structures, machines, cars, and fertilisers. It has been in a continuous investment process for several years. The company invests in superstructure – in modern and efficient equipment that increases its handling capacity.

The new vice-president has extensive knowledge of the industry. He is a graduate of the University of Gdansk with a degree in Transport Economics, Maritime Transport. He has also finished a postgraduate course for holders of a master’s degree and engineers in the port and shipping industry (University of Delaware in the USA, Singapore Port Institute, French Institute of Management), and has an MBA (University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Gdańsk Foundation for Management Training).

He possesses unparalleled expertise in seaports. He started his career with the Port of Gdańsk (then called Morski Port Handlowy Gdańsk S.A.). He worked his way up through various positions, from expeditor, elevator dispatcher, shipmaster, through manager of the Economics Department, Container Handling and Storage Department, to Management Board plenipotentiary for commercial affairs. He held the position of Chief Freight Forwarder at Siarkopol Gdańsk. He worked at BTC – Baltic Container Terminal Gdynia – where he was the President of the Management Board, as well as at the Port of Gdynia Authority, where his duties included coordinating the construction of a Ro-Ro Terminal. He was also president of the Baltic General Cargo Terminal Gdynia (now OT Port Gdynia) for many years. Recently, he served as managing director of NTA, a company specialising in port and warehouse cargo handling and the transport of cargo from the timber industry, unitised general cargo, and chemicals in containers. At the same time, he served as the President of the Westerplatte General Cargo Terminal, a subsidiary of NTA. He is a member of the Management Board of the reactivated Board of Stakeholders of the Port of Gdańsk.

The selection process for the position of President of the Port of Gdańsk Eksploatacja has not yet been completed.
