Rail Cargo Group will lease new wagons from Ermewa
In 2023, the Austrian carrier will lease 115 new wagons from Ermewa – one of the largest rolling stock pools in the world. Ermewa leases to the Austrians e.g. rolling stock intended for intermodal transport.
The cooperation between RCG and Ermewa has been going on for many years, and it was particularly important last year, because thanks to the involvement of both companies, the carrier was able to start transporting grain from Ukraine. Also this year, RCG expects to transport a large volume of cargo between Ukraine and the countries of the European Union, which is why it will lease 115 new wagons from Ermewa.
Of the 120 different types of wagons offered by the French company, the carrier belonging to the Austrian Federal Railways mainly uses 4 types of rolling stock: open wagons (Eanos and Eaos), Tadns wagons for the transport of weather-sensitive products and Sgns container platforms. The rolling stock leased from Ermewa is mainly used in the southern part of the RCG network, including Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic with a service hub in Zagreb.
