METRANS will expand the Gdańsk-Ostrava intermodal connection with the possibility of transporting containers from and to the container terminals in Gdynia. Trains between the Czech Republic and the Baltic Hub terminal run 3 times a week.

METRANS informed that the connection, which started in September 2022, is very popular among shippers and will be continued according to the timetable with departures from Ostrava on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from Gdańsk on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The duration of this connection is 18 hours, and the train has a scheduled stop at the terminal in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

Direct access to the NAVIS terminal system in the Baltic Hub – allows for quick customs clearance and release of the container for further rail transport. The intermodal service has also been extended by the possibility of transporting containers by trucks from and to terminals at the Port of Gdynia. Thus, the METRANS train has been connected to sea ocean connections and short-sea shipping services calling at both Tri-City ports.
