Jürgen Albersmann becomes CEO of Contargo
The Contargo Group is re-orienting its management structure in order to organise more networked and sustainable intermodal transport offers in future.
Following a challenging business year in 2022, the enterprise is now setting its course for the future. In order to grow further, especially along the European transport corridors, and create relevant perspectives for employees, the Contargo Group has decided to adapt its organisation structure as from 1 March 2023. The even more functionally-oriented structure is also intended to benefit customers. By implementing this change Contargo aims, among other things, to improve the interaction between transport and terminal services, and harmonise its processes throughout the network. The new organisation structure also has the purpose of supporting timely digitalisation and automation within the enterprise.
The Rhenus Board has appointed Jürgen Albersmann as the new Chief Executive Officer of Contargo. “We are happy to know that from March 2023, an extremely competent and experienced leadership personality will be heading our upwardly mobile company”, says Andreas Stöckli, Member of the Management Board of Rhenus SE & Co. KG. “After almost ten years as a Contargo Managing Director, Jürgen Albersmann has an excellent knowledge of the enterprise. He also has about 25 years’ experience in the logistics sector and is therefore an expert on the market.”
Jürgen Albersmann, together with the three members of the Contargo Managing Board Marcel Hulsker, Thomas Löffler and Uwe Storch, will head the Contargo Group and will be responsible for the sustainable development of the three functional organisational units Transport, Terminal Network and Services. Albersmann, who comes from Westphalia, obtained a Diploma in Economics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster in 1997. In 2008 he completed his Executive Master of Business Administration specialising in Logistics at the University of St. Gallen. Jürgen Albersmann has several years of experience in managerial functions in the areas of forwarding, rail goods transport and port logistics.
