Schavemaker, the Dutch logistics provider, is continuing to develop its intermodal terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie, Lower Silesia. The facility will be soon equipped with the second RTG crane, which was earlier delivered from Cargotec.

The installation works of a new RTG crane are going on at the Schavemaker Invest terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie. The vehicle was delivered by Cargotec under a contract signed in March 2021. It will be the second fully electric gantry crane for reloading containers at the facility weighing up to 45 tonnes.

The machine will allow storing containers up to five levels, and the 32-metre-long span of the columns will allow them to be stacked in 10 rows. The gantry crane will be equipped with a number of technical solutions essential for improving the quality and safety of work including anti-collision devices, AGS automatic steering system, a noise reduction system in contact with the load or a power cable with built-in optical fibre.

The crane is delivered within the project entitled “Expansion of the Intermodal Container Terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie”, which received funding in the amount of more than 11 million zloty from the EU Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment. The total value of the extension project is over 28.2 million zloty. Its main goal is to increase the reloading capacity of the Schavemaker Invest terminal, among others by enlarging and modernising the existing machinery park.
