OT Logistics equips its terminal in Port of Gdynia with new loading equipment
OT Logistics, one of the Polish major logistics providers, has completed another stage in retrofitting its ro-ro terminal in the Port of Gdynia. It equipped the facility with new reloading equipment such as terminal tractors, cassette systems and a reach stacker. The project is co-financed from the EU funds.
The freight operations at the OT Port Gdynia terminal will be enhanced due to the latest acquisition of OT Logistics, the operator of the mentioned facility in the Port of Gdynia. It purchased a brand new Hyster reach stacker of type S46-29XD/62 from Zeppelin Polska, an exclusive distributor of Hyster products in Poland. The vehicle, which has a maximum lifting capacity of 45 tonnes and a lifting height of over 13 metres, can stack up to five containers one on the other.
Besides the Hyster reach stacker, OT Logistics acquired 10 tractor tablets. “The new devices will allow both the free handling for existing customers and the acquisition of new cargo, and thus the handling of much larger ro-ro vessels, as well as more of them,” the Polish company stated. This order is a part of the project entitled “Retrofitting the intermodal ro-ro terminal in Gdynia by OT Port Gdynia”, which is co-financed from the EU fund: around 7 of over 17million zloty will be allocated in this regard. Within the investment, OT Logistics purchased four terminal tractors and four cassette systems in late 2020 to intensify the ro-ro operations in the Port of Gdynia.
