Schavemaker adds unique truck to its fleet
Dutch logistics company Schavemaker is developing its road haulage services by implementing innovations. Among other things, it has added an LNG-powered refrigerated truck for moving temperature-sensitive goods. The vehicle is unique for the company’s cold chain.
Starting from late November, Schavemaker has been operating the Volvo FH460 6×2 heavy goods vehicle, which runs on LNG. ” It is the first refrigerated combi for transporting flowers in the history of our company, and the first of the new generation of Volvo FH,” the company stated. The truck also has photovoltaic panels mounted on the roof of the cooling unit, which deliver energy to the Thermo King units to ensure the proper temperature of the flowers being transported.
The equipment also includes a BAR tail lift. The whole thing is completed by the driver’s cabin in the Globetrotter XL version, which has extensive optional equipment, and a number of systems ensure safety, including a blind spot monitoring camera on the right side of the vehicle.
