Two new container trains between Xinjiang and Germany
Germany has got two new rail freight services with China. The trains have been running between Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, and the two German key intermodal hubs, Hamburg and Duisburg. The newly arranged connections are dedicated to the groupage cargo.
The new container trains were organised by the Kazakhstan branch of RZD Logistics in a partnership with the logistics providers from Xinjiang. On their way to Europe, they cross Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland. 100 forty-foot boxes were delivered from Urumqi to Hamburg and 200 twenty-foot units to Duisburg. For these shipments, RZD Logistics developed a transportation plan, provided containers for loading, and also delivered cargo on the first and last miles.
“In the course of this transportation, RZD Logistics provides services in the 1520 area and Europe. Currently, the cargo has been safely delivered within the timeframe agreed by the customer. Establishing constructive and mutually beneficial interaction with foreign partners contributes to the development of services of RZD Logistics and strengthening the company’s position in the Trans-Eurasian transportation market,” noted Zhasulan Aliyev, the director of the Kazakhstan branch of RZD Logistics.
