Seven more logistics centres will be added to the network of DB Schenker in Spain. The extension is the result of the company’s latest acquisition in the Iberian country. It has purchased two logistics providers in the autonomous communities of Andalusia and Valencia.

Two Spanish logistics companies, Grupo Loserco and Transportes Santos Campos, will soon become a part of DB Schenker. On Monday, 6 December, the German provider has issued a statement on a planned acquisition of the two mentioned entities, which are the leading players in the road haulage market in Spain, particularly in the regions of Andalusia and Valencia. “The integration of these companies in Spain is the next step in a phase of growth and geographic expansion that we expect to be very successful and full of opportunities for DB Schenker and our team will be,” stated Cyrille Bonjean, executive vice president for land transport at DB Schenker in Europe.

By purchasing the two Spanish companies, DB Schenker will add seven new centres with more than 150 employees who will continue to serve existing and new customers. The takeovers are a further step in expanding DB Schenker’s network and strengthening the company’s presence in the Iberian market. When the deals will be completed, DB Schenker will expand its workforce on the Iberian Peninsula to more than 2,100 specialists who work directly and indirectly at 31 facilities.
