Five more new reach stackers from Kalmar will move boxes at the Polish intermodal terminals in Kutno and Gliwice. The vehicles were purchased by PCC Intermodal, the country’s major rail freight operator. By adding these reach stackers, the Polish company will increase its fleet of the Kalmar-produced machines up to 21 units.

The deal between PCC Intermodal and Kalmar includes the delivery of a total of three new laden containers reach stackers and two new empty container reach stackers (with an option for a third unit) to the Polish company. It will apply them for moving boxes at its intermodal terminals in Kutno and Gliwice, Poland. Moreover, the agreement provides the two-year service of the vehicles. The delivery is scheduled for the period between the first quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2023. After executing the order, PCC Intermodal will extend its fleet of Kalmar-made reach stackers from 16 to 21 units.

Two types

PCC’s order consists of three fifth-generation Gloria DRG450 reach stackers and two DRG100 reach stackers for empty and semi-laden containers. The Gloria vehicles with a loading capacity of up to 45 tonnes provide superior lifting performance with easy maintenance and excellent reliability to the customers. Another type of reach stackers, DRG100, can handle all types of empty and semi-laden containers, flat racks and single loads of up to 10 tonnes. They provide the rotation necessary for efficient handling in confined spaces, providing customers with higher productivity and greater versatility.
