More and more Russian manufacturers prefer to export their products to China by rail. To this end, RZD Logistics is developing unique solutions. Among the latest developments is the delivery of abnormal freight on the flat wagons.

Two regional divisions of RZD Logistics, those in Saratov and Voronezh, have jointly organised rail shipment of a heavy mechanical press from Russia to China. The oversized cargo with a total weight of over 230 tonnes was dispatched from Voronezh to the Manzhouli border station in China. For this shipment, the press was dismantled into several parts to be loaded on eight flat wagons. The delivery was performed to the Chinese company Jiangsu Longcheng Precision Forging.

Unique solution for Tjazhmekhpress

For RZD Logistics, such a shipment to China has become a unique solution. Its specialists organised the provision of flat wagons, adjusted the fare issues and the related payment as well as provided the consulting support for the customer, namely Tjazhmekhpress, the Voronezh-based manufacturer, which is the only enterprise in Russia producing heavy mechanical presses with a capacity of up to 16,500 tonne-force. RZD Logistics is planning to transport the second press from Tjazhmekhpress to Chine via the same route.

“Transportation of heavy and oversized cargo is one of the priority areas for the operations of RZD Logistics, and we are ready to offer unique solutions that take into account the individual needs of each client. The company has gained solid experience in transporting various agricultural and construction machinery, metallurgical, oil and gas, power equipment, machine tools and much more for the largest Russian and foreign enterprises. This shipment is not only a promising project but also a contribution to the mutual development of Russian-Chinese trade. The branch plans further cooperation with the enterprise,” noted Vera Vtorygina, director of the Saratov branch of RZD Logistics.
